im new to the site, i got a couple of Q's?

1. went wheelin saturday and truck ran awesome no problems. came home went through some water and it started running like crap...pulled the cap and dried truck ran fine, woke up yesterday and the truck runs horrible.. it has spark and fuel i smell raw fuel like it is just being dumped in? there are no codes.. i had three but i was able to fix them and now no codes... so why is my truck still running bad? and fouling out plugs? these plugs are brand new i bought them yesterday because the other ones were fouled out now these are fouled? thanks for the help i will post some pics of my truck and my new motor..soon

Sounds like it may be running rich but why? Something is preventing it from getting good spark. Hopefully one of our mechanics will jump in here and help.

oh you mean me???lol

could still be a wet issue, pull the cap and re ck it, pull the wires off the cap and make sure there dry also at the coil, did you check the air filter for water?

ya it's weird. it burns oil but i have never had this problem.. it runs without the map sensor hooked up, then when i hook it up it runs worse? now i got rid of all the codes and it is still running bad? what would cause the motor to run with out the map sensor being hooked up? this one is throwing me for a loop i have spent two days on it?

a friend of mine has a 88, had the same prob as you took it to the dealer and they found a shorted injector wire causing it to flood, and it would run better w/ the mass unpluged, i dont know exactly where the short was but i can ask the tech at the dealer but it wont be untill wensday, try to ck the harness to see if you can find anything. hope that helps

ok tried the new coil, still nothing.. still runs like chit and runs better with the map unplugged.. i checked all the wires going to the coil and the map sensor ect.. everything on the drivers side of the truck and it is fine? i don't no how it would run fine saturday and now it won't run all of a sudden didn't show any signs of running bad or rich, did a comp test checks out at 170 across.... running out of options? even unplugged the cold start injector made no differance?

Have you checked the voltage on the alternator? Also have you changed the fluids and check for fluids in the oil?
