I choose the road less traveled

« on: July 12, 2005, 09:58:29 pm »

Fun loving 2001 Tacoma looking for a good time. Non-smoking, Non-drinking, no bad habits or disease (me anyway. i'm not so sure about the driver).  I just wish my owner would find some Toyotas to play with. His brothers Bronco is too prissy and the other Brother (yup Darrell)s' M37 is too slow but, at least it CAN get there. Come on out and play!

If having 21 yrs. under my belt qualifies me as "one of the big boys", I'm in. I haven't had much experience off road but plan to make up for lost time. If I can be fairly sure I will, 1. stay right side up, 2. not tear the sheet metal off or, 3. not fill the cab with mud, I'll try it. One day i will try to make it back out west and maybe we can all meet up. I did spend some time in Oceanside CA a couple years back but didn't have my truck then although I did make an offroad escursion in the desert East of San Diego (up past Julian) but my Festiva would only get me so far.  I've been wanting to go back since that day.
Maybe we can start planning an event out that way. Texas is't that far from here, only about 20 hours or, a days drive, and from there into AZ or CA is only a few hours more. I'd be into it but, I would need to plan well in advance say, next Feb. or so.

Driving across Texas takes 12 hours alone!...........but pure joy in the Taco.   Made the drive from Houston to west Texas (El Paso) in about 10 hours.  Looking foward to another trip this august.

Dude, that sounds like an awesome idea, I've been wanting to check out the Cali deserts and hangout with everyone over there!

I'd have to do something in the summer, after school is out. Maybe we should have like a site-wide trdoffroad.com meet in California! By then we should have plenty of members to make the trip!

Welcome to the board btw, Coma, glad to have you on board!!! He is right, most of the drive to Cali from College Station would be through Texas!!!!

OK. Make it a 4th of July party! Lets see what kind of interst we can generate then plan a date based upon a majority vote. With that much time to plan....JUST SAY WHEN.
