Ok, so I bought a camera (Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P200) that I can post pics up on most places with no problem because it will shoot pics in a VGA mode designed for posting/emailing.. However, I try to post a pic up on this site, and I get "An error has occured, your jpeg cannot be used, it must be in jpg etc.etc. format.. WTF???

Doc  Shocked Where have you been? It's been so long since I seen you last Cry We had that one good post and then you vanished away into the air. You shouldn't have any problems posting. I use about the same camera as you just bought. Mine is a Sony Cybershot DSC-P100. I don't know why you would have any problems with yours only being a P200 ... I'm half computer and almost all camera stupid, but that's knowledge to everyone.  Grin

What ever happened to Rebel91Yota? Doesn't she live near you? Just wondering ... someone to share my passion of a 2nd gen yota on the site. LOL.

LOL.. I am still around, lurking mostly. Reading, and watching.. Rebel91Yota lives within 15 miles of me, haven't seen her post anywhere as of late, and have'nt seen her in person since before Xmas.. She had a horse incident, where one of her horses got cut up, and from what I understand is taking up alot of her time and money..
So, whats your secret to posting up pics from your camera? I hook mine up, click on the camera icon, it loads fine, but when I hit submit, thats when I get the error message..

I plug my camera up to my computer - have it set on review - turn it on - my computer asks me what I wanna do - I choose Open Files using windows explorer - get to the pictures - open up a folder from my pictures - highlight and drag them to the new folder - resize with photoshop - post up on the site.

I do put most of my picutres in a webshots folder first, but I have taken some right from the computer. I also don't post directly into where you type words. I use the additional options tab right under the box to post pictures. You shouldn't be having any problem honestly. I dunno what to tell you. Unless your computer is just doing something funky to your pictures. That's all I can think of right now.

Comptuer is the keyword.. I am on webtv.. Thus I do not have all those options. I plug the camera into the webtv and can email pics (1 at a time) with ease.. But, I can't post on the board due to the webtv converting them to jpeg instead of jpg..

Now that makes all the difference in the world. I have no idea about any of that stuff.

It has to be something with WebTV....which I may remind you is a Microsoft Product...hmm but so is Halo  Huh? Huh? Huh?

Nevermind, anyway, whenever you emailed me pictures Ray, I could see them in my email but could not save them on my computer for the life of me, and I'm a computer nerd.

You could try turning off that VGA setting (since it's crap quality anyways) and upload the full image, the gallery should take just about anything you throw at it

Ahhh, been there tried that.. Recieved error mssg stating that my photos exceeded maximum file size.. Thus why I took them in VGA mode the next time. And last time I tried. got mssg stating that I did not have access to the gallery, to contact an administrator. So, I figured it was not worth all the headaches.. And yep, cannot resize on webtv.. So, guess I am back to picturetrail, downloading, and posting a link that is visible to the board..
