Well guys, after about two weeks of looking on the internet and driving everyone up the wall I finally have myself another toyota pickup. I know everyone is glad to hear this so I dont have to keep saying this one and that one all the time. I would like to thank Alex M. for all the driving that he has done for me in finding a truck and thanks to everyone else for all your thoughts and putting up with me...lol.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shocked Shocked

Now find you a SFA and SAS the thing or 3.4L engine swap because you are going to long that headgasket issue the 3.0 has.

What do you mean Roach? It's had all the toyota recall done to fix that headgasket problem.

3.0s are known for there headgasket leaks between cyl 5 and 6. You can have a recall done to have it come back again around 60-100k miles. There really is no fix for 3.0 most just deal with it or swap in a 3.4L since they are pretty much a drop in/bolt up deal.

That is a good point Roach. I know that it can come back but it's less likely to happen once you have the recall done ... you know. How much would it cost to buy a 3.4L motor anyways? I'm sure it's not just that simple - what about the computers?

if you look around some of the sites you'll find swaps out from wrecked or parted out vehicles..... id say a motor swap and computers would be around 1000-4000. kinda broad but it all depends on the deal you get if you find one.

Yeah I guess that's a good point, BUT can you really just swap it out. I'm sure you would have to buy a clutch / fly wheel to match the 3.4L motor. I guess I'm asking if anyone knows a write up done for this swap? I'm not planning on that for awhile anyways, but it's good to keep handy.  Cool
