I was thinking of trying to get some folks together somewhere in VA... maybe in Harrisonburg at GWNF... sometime in December or January, after Chris and I get all our crap straightened out.  If not GWNF, somewhere like Stone Coal Gap, or Potts/Bald Mountains here in Roanoke/Botetourt/Craig counties.  There are also supposed to be some pretty good trails near Virginia Tech  Huh?  I've never heard anything much about them though.

I am pretty free from December 14th through January 14th (Christmas Break).  Just let me know who would be interested, etc.

Hmmmm, I have a CT meet Dec.3rd, and will be on vacation from Dec.17th/19th thru Jan 2nd. So, Dec. is already going to be a very busy/short month for me.. Maybe mid Jan... But, I am only 1 person.. If it works out better for you guys, go ahead.. Don't worry about me..

I think an early January meet would be kinda cool, GWNF would rock.  Be nice if we had someone who has rocked the trails before to show us around, but we could wing it.

Haha sounds like you have your head on straight, boy.  I could ask around about trail info... I haven't ever been up to GWNF myself, but I used to talk to some Rover buddies of mine that did it all the time.  I could prolly track them down and see if they have any advice, etc.

Here are some links I found about trail reports and pics from GWNF...

http://www.4x4wire.com/trail/report/va/gwnf01/index.htm?

http://www.off-road.com/4x4web/travels/trails/usa/virginia/1998/gwnf.html

http://www.4x4now.com/trvagwd.htm#FR%20502%20&%20FR%20442%20(2nd%20trail%20ride%20from%20Story.)

The third link seems like it is the most helpful.  And from reading over the reports, it sounds like the Second Mountain, Gauley Ridge, and Dictum Ridge trails could be pretty dang fun.  Evil

And yes Ryan, its the Hooters meet, from what I understand the DropnDrag crew should be attending and maybe some of the Keystone Krawlers..
