" TOYS " for all ages!!!

So everyone knows what's going on...I'm selling my tacoma because of bills. I need to pay off some of my debt and selling my truck ( as sad a thing ) helps me do this quick and easy. I know that it's not something that I want to do, but I have already decided. I'm still goingto buy another toyota. An older one like my original toyota a 92.

Here's what I have found and thinking about buying.
http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=191821147&dealer_id=75748&car_year=1992&search_type=used&make=TOYOTA&distance=100&model=PICKUP&address=24064&certified=&advanced=&max_price=10000&bkms=1131326647349&min_price=1&end_year=1997&start_year=1989&isp=y&lang=&cardist=88

So yeah...come on...lets hear it...all the boos about the 3.0 and we can have a discussion...lol

Just to let everyone know also, Alex S Moore is selling his 05 and is planning on buying my 99. This helps him get out of half of his payment as well. I would like nothing more than to help someone out espeically someone I know and a fellow member is cool. Keeps it in the family.

Hit me Back people.

Oooooh, manual locking hubs? Grin

LOL.......... he's goin low tech!!  Grin i bet yall 94 and older taco's wich you had them puppies!

hey chris, thats a really clean lookin base to build on. personally id still go with a 22RE 4 banger. i belive you only get a 10 to 15 HP gain with the 3.0 vs. the 2.4 on top of economy, weight and the dead set reliability of the GOD OH MIGHTY 22R motor base. i belive the 3.0 is a "good" motor but you are more open for more performance upgrades with a 22RE. cheaper to build also. a 3.0 is far more expensive to build up because it was not as widely researched as the 22R line of motors. performance parts are harder to come by, and when you find em, theyre usually expensive. the 22R line of motor you can do just about anything under the sun to it..... (supercharge, turbo) and i think will be a stronger base to boost power off of.

trust me on this one...... 4 banger is you best bet if you are going to go and buy something like that. remember that conversation you and me had about the motor build on one? thats just half of what can be done  Grin

The only thing that I'm worried though is the power. I know how my 3.0 ran and it was way strong then my 2.7L I have now. it's still a 4cyl no matter what you say and I dont wanna have to rip apart the 4cyl motor just to make it so I can accelerate in 5th gear on the enterstate. I know I can do this with the 3.0L.

Do you really think that I would be better off with less power. I mean it is less accelerant power based ont he v6 power in general.  What do you guys think?

We will throw this in as well.

did yours keep blowing the right cylinder bank head gasket? its what was supposedly notorious for doing that. chris is very intrested in one but im trying to suggest he get a 22RE version of the 3rd gen pickup. seems like the xtra cab version is hard to find with the 4 banger.

Attention Everyone ... Please keep your eyes out for a ............

Toyota Pickup XCAB 2.4L (22RE) 5spd 4x4 - I'm not worried about the mileage on the truck, I'm planning on fixing up the motor anyways in the first couple months. I'm basically looking at body and interior in good condition. I don't mind if it's all manual everything either...I'm used to this from my old truck.

If you can help a fellow toyota owner out that would be great.

thanks again Alex for all your helpful info.

Hope to have a new truck very soon and start fixing it up.
