I have a 2005 Tacoma double cab. Im trying to figure out what would be better. K&N Air Charger intake or just the standard K&N cold air intake. What are the differences between the two as well.

I have all so been thinking about exhaust. What do you guys recommend? I don't want it to laud but want it to sound thoughty.

Thank you for all the help!!!!

The cold air intake replaces the intake system of your truck and allows for less restricted airflow. It also tries to block out some of the heat from the engine as colder air will perform better.

The filter is just that. It's a filter but uses a much better filter element that lets in more air.

The good thing about either one is that they have a very long life, and you will likely not have to change the filter (including the air intake filter) for as long as you own the truck. You can also get a K&N cleaning kit to clean the filter every now and then.

According to K&N's website, the intake gains an estimated 10hp, so I would go with that.

Thank you Matt for your quick reply. I'm not sure if I understand you right. Are you saying that  the air charger and air intake are basicly the same? I'm trying to figure out what one would be the better one to get. I'm not a hard core off-roader, the most the truck sees is sand on the beach and logging roads.

I called K&N this morning to find out that they only make the aircharger for my truck. Thank you for all the information.
