hey trdoffroad!
i just bought a 2008 tacoma trd 4x4. after havin an 87 and currently an 82 toyota i figured it was time for a new model. i actually traded  my 2009 dodge challenger r/t for it and i gotta say its worth it 100%! i plan on a 6 inch lift with 33 inch tires and i guess about 17 inch rims for starters. does anyone happen to have a few recomendations for building a truck for the desert? i just got stationed in yuma arizona and im used to mud ridin in mississippi.
any help is greatly appreciated

Hey back at ya and welcome to the site! Mississippi mud to Arizona sand Huh? big difference for sure.

Coilovers up front, Deavers out back with some good shocks, and fat tires. Any particular reason to go with 17's? A smaller rim with give you more sidewall height and thus more contact with the ground when you air down. There are a couple trucks on here set up for the desert. Look around and ask questions. We'll be here.

Check these out.

Yea, I'm still running my stock rims with 285/75-16 and probably will keep them. My next tire will probably be skinnier though since they would work better for the kind of trails i prefer to ride on.

Check out this link for some trails in your area; http://www.dirtopia.com/wiki/Arizona
