anyone know what gear ratio comes from the factory in 04 double cab trd prerunner v6/auto. i cant find a tag on the axle and i want to regear soon but need to know the ratio before i do it

it should be a 4:11, you could call the dealer's parts dept with your vin# and if the guys are nice enough  they can tell you with that and you also have an axle code on the door plate, you can decode it on some yota forms, just do a search, i don't know off hand to tell you.

On my '03 V6 Auto it was 4.10 (or 4.11 whatever). I had it changed to 4.56 and got back some power and about 1mpg after switching to 33" tires.

yea, i was thinking it could have been a 4:10
On my '03 V6 Auto it was 4.10 (or 4.11 whatever). I had it changed to 4.56 and got back some power and about 1mpg after switching to 33" tires.

Yea, my 01 is 4:10 also.

i would love to swap out my gears for a 4:56 but i have 4wd so it cost 2times as much!

Ouch yea it wasn't cheap. It was 800 parts&labor for just 2wd.
