It's a simple modification which allows you do be in low range without engaging the front drive shaft.

I know how it's done. I just wondered if anybody has tried it. It's a simple wiring modificaton that prevents the front shaft from engaging when you move the lever into the 4 lo position. Once you do the mod you will need to press the button to engage the front shaft.

I haven't done it but I would think it will scream the rear tires Grin

why would you want to do it anyway?

That's kinda why I asked if anybody had tried it. I guess it could be helpfull occassionally on a down hill or if you wanted to try test hill up at Silver Lake in 2 wheel. With the grey wire mod letting you lock the rear anytime you want coupled with the 2 lo mod you could have the rear locked, in 2 wheel and, be in low range. Could also help turn a tight corner in low since you could click it out of 4 wheel drive but keep the rear locked in low and once you made the turn you could just click back into 4 low. Kinda cool but (like the grey wire mod) it has limited value.
