hey guys- it's been a while since i've been back on the forum... 2yrs i believe.....

last time i posted (mar 2007) i had just come back from iraq. well i got to put some 315/75R16s + 5.13 gears on the yota but unfortunately had to part with it. after 145k mi of faithful service i had to sell it

shortly after i returned home i also got married and had a son on the way (he's 1yrs old now). i traded the yota in @ a dodge dealership- suprisingly, they gave me $13k   for the truck. i now own an 07 dodge ram quad cab 4x4 with a cummins tubodiesel and 6speed man trans.

i haven't completely lost the TOYOTA bug though- i still own an 01 toyota 4runner sr5 4x4 and my old 79 toyota corolla 2dr!!   ...can't ever beat toyota's quality.

well i'll still be on the forum from time to time seein as i still own x2 toyotas- take care all!!

Hey CRUZ671. Glad to hear you still have the 4 Runner. Even better.....you came back from Iraq! Your always  welcome here even if you end up Yotaless (which is unlikely). Do you wheel the Ram? They're a little cumbersome on the trail and a little heavy in the sand or snow but I guess if you need a big truck for work it would be OK. Are you still working on big engines? Or did you find different work when you came back?

Thanks guys - I still work on engines in the oilfield, for a different company now though. 50k on the Dodge and I still haven't wheeled it yet, other than traveling these coutry roads in bad weather. I really do like my Dodge, more the cummins turbodiesel than anything else - that thing will make power like you wouldn't believe. But i bet the drivetrain alone it worth more than the entire truck's trade-in value... i just finished installing a 6" tuff country lift this evening - i plan on running some 37x13.50s on 17" wheels.

i still love Toyota though - one of these days I'm going to find an older model 4wd truck 79-83 and build it from the ground up. going to put my old 3" toytec on the wife's truck when i get around to getting some spacers/replacement springs for the rear
