i'm thinking about changing the diff gear ratio from a 4.11 to a 4.30 or so. my question is how will that effect the shifting on the auto trans, i know it will change the shift points and the speedo but do i need to do anything else aside changing the ft and rear gears?

When I changed mine on my 03 I changed it from 4.10 to 4.56 (I think...may have to look at old posts to verify that  Grin) I did this to get some power back and to correct the speedo. I had a shop do it and as far as I know that's all they did was change the gears.

You don't have to do anything else Dan. It won't change your shift points anymore than your bigger tires did. It will just get you back closer to stock gearing.

Mine was automatic. My tires were 33" though from the original stock of ~31". It put the speedo almost dead on and I could definitely notice some more torque in the lower gears. I was expecting a big jump in gas mileage but it was maybe an extra 1 mpg if that.

I have no idea...I'm pretty sure my dad paid for them and I paid him back, so I don't have the receipt.

well i don't think i want to spend that kind of money right now and i'm going to TN in may so i don't want to have an install problem on the way, but i did order a 2.2 s/c pulley from URD so maybe that will get me what i'm looking for, i'll post some picks and let you know how it works out.

 thanks doug for the links.
