sorry yall 2WD guys. no offense but, a pre runner may as well be a lowrider for all i do  Grin the "stuck lever" sure comes in handy on them serious trails when clibing over rocks the size of a house  Shocked that and i cant ever see myself with anything less the 4WD.

a big welcome back to 05blacktaco! see you guys? i told you we'd make it!  Grin

shows that the prerunner is a good truck and can do some of the things a 4wheel drive can do. I'm not saying it's equal by any means, because 4wheel drive is always a plus when offroading. that was a fun trip. we did that run a couple of times and took a couple different lines. good hill climb you can do, but you have to be quick about it.

I wanna go up to tech sometime and wheel. there are lots of places from what I hear, but I have yet to go up there. there are a couple guys from TTORA that are cool w/ me. I was gonna talk to them about getting a trip together with some people. it's posted in the offroading section.

2wd might not do some of them hill climbs but if you add 2wd + a locker and mabe some good grippy tires..... theres alot you can do!

the advantage of having the 4wd tho is bar none. instead of "pushing" the front tires through terrain as 2wd may do, 4wd allows the front end to pull itself over or through whatever it encounters. im sure the pre-runner guys will do great through trails although i cant see the front end being too happy about it. you guys ever have alighnment issues?? my buddy who just got his upper arms done even realized his steering rack bushings were junk! hes at 18,xxx miles too! Shocked wich by the way.......

CHECK YOUR STEERING RACK BUSHINGS REGULARLY!!!. after my buddy got his arms done, he gave me the honor to go drive it around. and since last time i drove it, i noticed lots of slop in the steering and a slight "clunk" noise in the front end. we investigated and come to find out his bushings were just garbage. so a freindly reminder to all taco owners to check those bushings regularly!! if you dont know wich ones they are..... >look under the truck. where the front suspension sits, twards the rear of the front suspension there will be a long "cylinder" type looking thing wich will be your rack. have someone move the steering wheel left to right and watch for any slack, or movement of that tube. there is one bushing very apperent wich is the one that looks like a "U" bolted to it, and another on the driver side wich is a regular bolt that bolts to the front end. if there is any slack, FIX IT! or send it in for warranty as for whatever the occasion may be.
