can I keep it! Grin

Yes that is correct I just purchased a '86 4runner in very very good condition.I couldn't be happier.I finaly found my DD. This runner belonged to the sister of one of our older techs. She was the original owner and it was serviced by her brother since day one. They bought them at the same time.Hank got the x-cab(aka HO-TOY) and she the runner. It's a 22re with auto trans and 102,000 on the OD.The only rust I can find is the inner lip of the rear wheel well. The factory paint is still in tact even around the fuel tank. Cool.I have no plans of changing anything but the clutch fan for a electric one which I already have. And installing a decent stereo system which I also already have.I'll try and get some pics posted up in a few days.

3 CAT scans an MRI and some time with the shrink. It's confirmed. I'm just not right in the head.

Actually for the first time I can look at a vehicle and say "I like it just the way it is." Maybe when the BFG's are done in it might get new rims with tires.I figure with having a rig to trash on the rocks('81) and a very well built and capable money pit of a excursion rig('99 Tacoma). I now have a bone stock excellent condition DD.('86 4runner) Damn I wish I could afford a newer Tundra. That would make my Yota fleet complete.lol But for now I'll settle for using my step-dads landscape trucks.

This runner is setup pretty damn good.I just ran the vin# and the factory tire size is 31's.The dif gears are 4.30's and the T-case has a reduction of 2.66 which is lower than the standard 2.28  Grin
I started to install my stereo equipment but I didn't get very far.I did score a head unit from a customer/friend of mine. Not sure of the brand but it's some kind of DVD player that has something along the lines of a 600 song memory. It's ipod,MP3 and satelite ready there some other stuff but I have no clue about this sort of thing.Hell I just want to be able to play CD's. Grin But my man Rob says I have nothing to worry about and it's all gonna be good. He's my friend so I'll take his word for it. Grin

I finaly got around to taking a few pics

The only rust I can find. The oposite side is about the same.

Other than the carpet the interior is in excellent condition for a 22 year old rig.It does have a small case of SBS(which I just realized) but I'll make up some hybrid leaf packs to remedy that.

We don't find them like this around here very often either.lol If I didn't work at a dealership I prob wouldn't have come across one. They just seem to show up here one about every couple of years. The last one to come in in this good of shape the service manager bought it.(a red '87) a half hour before I found out about it being on the lot.(that bastad)lol

That's a lucky find. I recently gave up my 87,  since the rest of my collection are 2nd Generation, but I really miss the 22RE. Treat that lady nice!
