I choose the road less traveled

« on: July 18, 2007, 01:17:57 pm »

Well I finally got around to doing something about my tire rubbing issue. With my 33" BFG's even with the 2" or so of lift from my Camburg coilovers and Deaver leaf springs I still had some problems with the front pinch weld and the rear wheel flare. So...I called 4crawler and picked up a 1" body lift complete with bumper brackets, fan shroud drop kit, and bed spacers. The install went pretty well but the bumpers were a little more work than I expected. As you can see in the pictures I still need to tweak the front bumper a little but I think it turned out pretty good. I'll get some pictures of some of the mods we had to do to make it all work as soon as I can.

Yup...I don't remember bumpers being a problem when I put that body lift on my 03 truck. seems like they went right back in place. I've been thinking of putting a 1" on my 06 just to give it a little beef.

Yea, I left it at my brothers shop for a week and he did it in his spare time since I don't have any.

normally im totally against BL's but the 1" seems ok... made the truck look stout. thumbs up over here!

had a buddy with the same issues on the bumpers. instead of wrecking our knuckles brains and patience i said fuk it and dremmeled out the mounting tabs some to have more play in order to line it up.
