Last night I bought a '81 4x4 Grin

It's has a new frame from just under the cab back. It also came with a 22re to swap in if I like but I'm gonna keep the carb'ed motor and convert to propane. It also has a 3"BL that's coming off and going with 3" TG springs front and rear. The cab is all but rust free and what was rusted has already been repaired Grin It's rolling on 35's but I'm thinking 39" or 40's. I'm building a full truggy out of this.It will take me about a year to complete depending on other things that are going on.I tried to talk myself out of buying this but I lost the argument ;Dlol I just couldn't let this one go.

Not to me it's not for most other folks I would then say yes it would. I have a complete chevy 350 w/t400 trans set-up pretty much just lying around but with the gas prices going the way they are I just want a 4 banger to keep it as simple as posssible and the cost as low as I can.My Tacoma build is and will be the only money pit I'll get involved with. I just want something that I can just flat out beat the hell out of and not have to worry if I can drive it home. Grin This is going to be a ghetto build from start to finish. The only new part(s) is going to be the propane kit, everything else I'm going to do my best to find it used and on the cheap.

It was listed on craig's list for $1500 but I came across it driving around, it was on the side of the road. It comes with a 22re motor and trans wire harness, ecu and another tranny and t-case. I got it all for $1000. I'm picking it up tonight. The kid I got it from bought it a few months ago but can't afford to pay to get all the welding work that needs to be done. And just wanted to get his money back on it and see it go to a good home.

Thanks guys but don't expect anything too soon. I won't be getting into this project until after our clubs Telico trip in August. Then I'll really start figuring out a plan of attack. So far the only thing that is definite is that I'll be running dual t-cases cause I already have them and it's going to be caged.

I finaly looked under the hood and the motor is in very good shape. It also has a Webber carb so for now I'll probably just refresh it a bit and run it as is(the motor) and hold off on the propane for the time being.

EVILroach do you have any other pics of your buddys rig? I would like to see more of the cage work and what's the length of the stinger?
