2WD what!?

Because of my recent experience... can we compile a lite of things to do/not do to your truck in order to pass a given state inspection?

For example:

In VA:
- No grilles/covers on aux lighting
- Aux lighting MUST be wired to go off when Highs are turned on, no independent switch!
- No third brake light covers
- Windshield stickers must not travel below 3" from the top of the windshield
- No headlight/taillight covers
- Cannot be missing even (1) lugnut (haha)
- Door handles must be secured to the door (can't be missing that little screw!)

However, the fact I'm missing a one of the bolts securing my drivers side seat to the cab doesn't seem to be a problem, hahahahahaha Roll Eyes

You should. I think links would be a better idea. Here is Texas' pickup trucks:

yeah, here is the one for VA (scroll down on the page)
http://www.vsp.state.va.us/safety.htm

and cali (.pdf)

Also to note, some states like CT, only require SMOG testing... no other testing is required.

i'm sure theres a reason we don't. we use to have smog testing (AET) but that was a farce, if you failed the test all you had to do was get a low emission tune up that consisted of at least 70 bucks. i think the smog testing is coming back but in a different form, meaning where going to use a scanner instead of a tail pipe sniffer.
