Hey, we're thinking about having a site-wide meet in Cali in June/July 2006. I know it's a year away, but that gives people plenty of time to think about it and plan. By that time we should have enough members that at least 10-20 people would be able to make the trip.

I'm mainly just posting this up to hear everyone's thoughts and suggestions on this then maybe we can make it official.

I'm hoping we can organize a week long event with different levels of challanges so everyone can participate. Do we have people in SoCal. that are willing and able to research trails and post a list of hotels or camp grounds?  I hope you can pull this off. Put me on the top of the sign up sheet!!!

as a site mod, and local cali trails freak, id be more then happy to be your guide through some of the trails in the local mountains and deserts. theres everything out here ranging from driving miss daisy through a scenic road to things that just make you wonder WTF?  Grin so depending on what yall wanna do it can be made fun for all people, (not excluding pre runner guys!) pre runner guys will love the sand dunes out here. lots of fun and also the local race courses in ocotillo are always fun. barstow, hodge, and a few other places are also pre runner compatible. so theres something for everyone to play in. bring your rigs, we'll provide the dirt  Grin

Hey Guys,

Looking thru the members list i see we do have as many people out east as out west. So our second event may need to be geared that way but hey, its not that far across the continent and from what I've seen SoCal is THE place for wheelin. So...all you Eastern folks, come on out to Cali.!!!! Being in Michigan I could go either way but can probably only commit to one major event per year. Or ya'll have ta meet in the middle sometime. BUT FOR NOW, I'M CALIFORNIA DREAMIN.

or do regional meets... like have a wheeling meet in the AZ desert since its more central for TX, AZ, CA, NV, and other surrounding states...

then have a meet in the midwest for all them states, etc...

Yes, AZ would be nice and not as far east as Cali, I'm willing to make the drive, mytacoma said he's in, and SD TACO could make the drive if it's not too far from Cali. We would still do it sometime in June-July. If we're gonna do this I hope to have something concrete by X-mas time so people can start planning vacation time and stuff like that

AZ is fine by me even UT or NM. Like I said, I have been out there by Ocitillo Wells and am somewhat familier with the area so thats why I suggested CA in the first place. I haven't seen any input from the guys out east but have seen them reading our post so it appears to me that you guys out west are the most likely to show up and make this a gig so I say "west it is" for the first event. Yup, regionals would be great and once we get this off the ground I'd be willing to help coordinate a midwest thing if interest is there.
